COURSE OUTLINE 

The University course is a 6 week, 12-hour class that covers basic wine appreciation, production, economics and blind tasting while touring and tasting wines from all the major wine producing regions or the world. 

The class is held Tuesday nights at CLAVO Cellars in downtown Templeton from 6pm - 8pm. 

Wines tasted during the University are hand selected by Ali and include some of the most prestigious, obscure and hard to find wine in the world.

$500 per person

SYLLABUS 

WEEK 1 - Introduction, production methods, marketing and economics. Classic varietal characteristics & systematic approach to blind tasting. Blind taste 3 whites and 3 reds. 

WEEK 2 - France (Burgundy | Alsace | Loire | Northern Rhone)

WEEK 3 - France (Southern Rhone | South | Bordeaux | Champagne) Germany, Austria, Hungary 

WEEK 4 - Italy (NorthWest | North East | Central | South | the Islands) Spain

WEEK 5 - Bubbles & Spain 

WEEK 6 - New World (South America | Australia | New Zealand | California | Oregon | Washington | NY) Sake & Graduation
